Programming is passion made real
Without a doubt, my favorite Javascript library is Dojo Toolkit. Unfortunately, it can be a bit challenging to learn via the dojo.manual, especially if you aren’t interested in the widgets, just the DOM, UI, and FX libraries.
I just wrapped up a project where I used Dojo quite heavily on the site. One effect I thought was particularly effective was a simple show/hide toggle with nice fades. Take a look at the live page.
My first CubeCart client is up and running with her store.Cynthia Joba sells high-quality prints and custom commissions to individuals and corporations. She didn’t want a boring, “stock” store, so we did something very creative.
The site is not my design, but all the front-end code is mine, and all the custom interfaces with CubeCart as well. I really haven’t seen many other examples of people using CubeCart this way, but it worked extraordinarily well.
So well, in fact, that I am thinking of packaging some of my modifications for sale to the active CubeCart community. The base engine is great, clean as a whistle, but it is missing quite a few features that it is relatively easy to bolt-on and sell for $10 or $20.
In any case, I have two more clients I’m going to push toward CubeCart. It puts OSCommerce or ZenCart to shame in clarity, security and ease of deployment.
